STEP 1 - Arrange a Trial NightIf you have an interested youth member that would like to come along and visit us, please send us an email - we can’t accomodate walk ins as we often have pre-prepared groups and activities which may even be at a different location or time.
We allow one trial, by prior arrangement, IF we have the capacity for more youth members. We’re always looking for more adult volunteers to increase our capacity!
You can contact us for a trial night by emailing GL@buderim.scoutsqld.com.au AND the section you’d like to trial. We will email you with a suitable night to visit, any information you need to know about that activity and an indemnity form which you will need to complete.
When attending a Scout event, youth members must always wear enclosed shoes (this does not include sandals or crocs). We recommend wearing clothes they’re happy to get a little bit dirty, and bringing a water bottle.
STEP 2 – RegistrationSo your youth member loved Scouts and they’d like to come again? Or they’re unsure but they’d like to visit again to decide? You will need to register your youth member online prior to them attending the next meeting.
New Members are provided with up to 28 days to pay the initial membership fee. The new member is able to enjoy the benefits of membership during that period. Once the initial membership fee has been paid no refunds for that period of Membership will be provided. Membership will be withdrawn if the invoice remains unpaid after 28 days.
Once you have completed the application, send an email to your section leader to let them know so they can share further information about upcoming activities. Once you’ve paid your membership fee, your section leader will guide you through how your section runs, where you can find up to date information and how you respond to and pay for events.
Membership FeesThere are three main categories of fees which vary from year to year and event:
Annual Scouts Membership fee
This is paid bi-annually in April and October and covers your membership & insurance
Buderim Scouts term fees
These are paid quarterly and covers such things as local maintenance, training of adult leaders, facility insurance contributions, and administrative expenses
Camp/ Activity fees
